The opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympics was extraordinary, wasn't it? I didn't see the whole show for I was hard at work (not!) but what a spectacular performance.
I was able to watch the opening only to find out a few days later that the fireworks were fake and that the Ode to The Motherland was sung by another kid.
fair enough it was a health & safety issue, which was their lame excuse for the faux fireworks, but that thing about those kids are just sad and unfair.
and all those other stuff surrounding the chinese gymnasts' dodgy ages. what was that about?
